November 3, 2018 – 8:00am at the Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, WV
This 5k run will start at 8:00 AM on 3 November 2018 and takes place in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, WV. The course encompasses the natural terrain of beautiful Spring Hill Cemetery. This is a paved course offering both runners and walkers scenic views of Huntington and the Marshall University Campus. Just a short walk away from the campus of Marshall University or a few minutes drive from downtown Huntington this is destined to be a highlight of your MUM experience.
At the completion of the 5k, participants will have the opportunity to place a flower at the Marshall Memorial to honor those lost during the 14 November 1970 place crash.
In place of a t-shirt participants will receive a special commemorative hooded sweatshirt that will be the envy of all those that didn’t participate.
We will also have a free guided tour of Spring Hill Cemetery after the shake out run for those that enjoys history. The talk will focus on the history of Cabell County and Huntington.
Spring Hill is home not only to the MU monument but also the Bell Tower and a steel girder that was once part of the Twin Towers that fell on 9/11. Parking is available directly across from the cemetery. This event is capped at first 250 registrations.
